5 ITALC stops after login authentication - ID: 3561732

I've just installed ITALC 2.0.0 on Win XP SP3, and set it up to use ACL login suthentication. When I start Italc it asks for Login id and Password, then just stops. I see this message in the Master log:
Sat 25. Aug 19:11:46 2012: [WARN] FastQImage::scaleTo(...): converting source-image to Format_ARGB32
If it's relevant, this pc previously had ITALC 1 installed, but I think I successfully uninstalled that before installing ITALC 2.0.0

Eventually found a bypass for the problem. I changed the XP Display
settings Colour Quality property from "Medium" to "Highest", and Italc
started up ok.
