Using Lubuntu 12.04 & corresponding PCManFM version.
When you start typing, PCManFM automatically starts searching either the file or boomark panel: it is a great feature except that bookmarks do not really need to be autosearched. If you have so many bookmarks that they need to be searched, you probably need to have your head examined. Furthermore, it is easy to drag the often-used bookmarks to the top.
The problem is, the autosearch feature will search the last focused panel/window. If you used your bookmarks in the left panel to access a folder, autosearch will then search by default the bookmarks panel rather than the files in the new folder you just opened. You need to click twice in the file panel to focus it for autosearch to search it. It is a huge annoyance and considerably slows down for no legitimate reason the use of an otherwise fast application. There is no point in having a fast-responding app if its design slows down its use.
Solution: Make autosearch search by default the file panel, not the last focused panel. Hopefully, that is an easy fix.
Thanks for an otherwise good application.
