9 Bcc facility for registration/verifcation emails - ID: 2844181

Hi

This request relates to a post in the Help forum. Please see ( https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=3375777&forum_id=185166) Newbie observations, email, other questions.

At present the PGV Administrator does not seem to receive copies of outgoing emails generated through the registration/verification process. which means that he has no way no verifying if the emails are being sent, or sent to to their intentded recipients or the nature / content of those emails.. My suggestion is the provision of an optional field to have all correspondence emanating from the PGV Administrator bcc'd to an external email account of his choosing so that he can not only keep a record of the outgoing emails but also act as verification tool, a backup,as well as if the need arises for subsequent referal to them, or access to emails in the case of a duplicate email needing to be sent.

The suggestion has also been made to also to cc the PVG Administrator using the internal messaging system again as a backup measure.

This would also provide Administrators with the means of using another email account should the server be down or as in the case reported where other providers ban emails from some web hosts, to make copies of the correspondence sent and relay it to his users, prospective users.

Another suggestion is to have verification link addled to the verification email sent included in the [PhpGedView Message] New user at http.. message sent to the Administrator.ie:

The following message has been sent to your PhpGedView user account from user@user.com

Hello Administrator ...

A prospective user registered himself with PhpGedView at http://www........

User name ....
First Name .....
Last Name ....
Comments: .......

The user received (change to: has been sent ) an (verification) email with the information necessary (for him) to confirm his access request.
The verification link for User .... is as follows:........
The verification code is: .....

You will be informed by.......

I'm the wrong person to ask about email issues. I've never looked at it. I
never managed to get it to work at all on either my dev/live sites, and I
don't edit code that I can't test....

I also asked if I could enter this code to enable bcc ot all emails to be
sent to a chosen external email address:- not had a reply as yet.

If I add $message["bcc"] = mywebmailaccountaddress;

Will this work to have all registration/verfication emails bcc'd to my
webmail address.

Can you tell me also where I go to get notifications of comments added to
Tracker posts - just happened to be reviewing the post and wasn't aware
that you had made a comment.
