Hi,
The connection speed of my home wi-fi link is unreasonably slow (<= 20
KiB/s).
I'm using Debian/testing installation on the HP Pavilion dv9860er laptop.
Hardware:
- ZyXeL Prestige 660HW-61
- 02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Network Connection (rev 02)
Software:
- kernel 2.6.24-1-686
- firmware-ipw3945 0.11
My ISP maintens 1 Mb/s channel for me which should yield approx. 100-120
KiB/s. And it is quite reachable through the wired connection under Linux,
as well as through the Wi-Fi link under Windows.
However the iwl3945 Wi-Fi allows only transfer upto 20-40 KiB/s, which is
20% of the nominal bandwidth.
Can anyone give me a hand with this? I need to find out the reason of
bandwidth degradation and fix it.
Thanks,
Val.
