5 Why Linux old versions - ID: 1836406
Last Update: Comment added ( nobody )

Dear All

Am planning to use openssi to cluster all UNIX servers in our corp, but i have a couple of questions please somebody answers it.

First why is openssi on have packages to very old versions of linux like redhat 9 and fedora core3
and
i dont understand or find a doc about how to make oracle rac work on it.
WHat i understand is the nodes are booted from PXE and a kernel in uploaded in the ramdisk but how can it support rac as i think rac must have multiple instances with shared storage or clustered FS.

I really appreciate a response,
Best regards

Developers are working on [ 1248048 ] Provide OpenSSI for RHEL4-type
distributions

The cluster filesystem (CFS) comes with OpenSSI and operates seamlessly.
You want to specify "chard" mount option to activate high-availability.
