The special default rule for segmenting numbered headers is also segmenting numbers appearing at the start of a sentence.
For example, the text :
3D rendering capabilities. 10X faster!
is segmented like :
[3] [D rendering capabilities.] [10] [X faster!]
I think it can be fixed by requiring a number to be followed by a dot for the sequence to be considered a numbered header.
Patch for numbered headers segmentation
A dot is not the only way to introduce a numbered header. It could be a space, a bracket, etc.
What could be reasonable is not to break when the character immediately following the number is alpha.

Fixed in SVN (2.3 and /trunk).
It fixes another bug: breaking when a sentence started with a dot followed by a capital letter. E.g.,
.NET is a software framework.
The new rule also introduces segmentation for ) and ], so all these chapter headers will segment.
