Zort is yet another server-based (PHP) RSS/Atom Aggregator system, aimed at users who want a minimalistic RSS/Atom system without the added complexity that most other aggregators provide.

... it looks like the official 1.0.0 release of Zort was just a little over two years ago now. Awesome. So happy birthday, my tiny little creation!
One look at the Changelog tells the whole sordid tale - this release was basically ready to go in early November of 2006, and it's now nearly August! What horror! How could I be so callous and unthinking towards my legions of desperate fans? I dunno, man, things got BUSY or something. Anyway, Zort 1.1.0 has finally made it to a SourceForge mirror near YOU, and assuming that I still have any users at this point, there's a number of new improvements and features available for your edification: * Attachment support - perfect for podcasts! * "Loading" screen while feeds are being loaded - perfect for people who like to see results! * HTML Sanitization using HTML Tidy - perfect for people who don't like improper HTML to totally screw up their Zort screen! * Greater control over feed display (number of items, displayed title, etc) - perfect for control freaks! * Many other minor appearance tweaks and changes - perfect for the WHOLE FAMILY! Other changes include an overhauled color configuration scheme (wherein you don't even have to have to mention it in your config file), some nicely overhauled example configs, and probably some other minor stuff that I'm forgetting. Also, the version of MagpieRSS that's bundled with Zort now is NOT a vanilla copy of the publicly-available MagpieRSS versions. You're still free to use your own MagpieRSS if you want, but you'll be missing out on a couple of Zort features if you do so (most notably the attachment/podcast support). I still haven't actually tested out the HTML Tidification in PHP5 - it uses a slightly different syntax than what's in-use for PHP4. If anybody sees any problems with feeds when using PHP5, send it over my way and I'll see what I can do about it. As always, bug reports, feature requests, and comments are all appreciated... The first two are most efficiently put forth using the Sourceforge trackers. We now return you to your regularly-scheduled internets... -CJ
