Where's the PostgreSQL support? MySQL is CRAP for use in real world business. It doesn't scale without a whole lot of tweaking and plugins. In a world where the CRUD must stand up to the ACID tests, MySQL doesn't cut it. PostgreSQL is enterprise-ready immediately "out-of-the-box".

Cannot edit the default page, which renders the entire exercise useless. The file cannot be written to, even though it is chmod 777. Yeah, I read the DOCs. Yeah, I followed the instructions. Yeah, I'm very comfortable with the terminal. Yeah, I know: it must be me. And yet ... I administer plenty of LAMP configurations on two continents. That's three hours I'll never get back (reading and documenting work takes time). Every project I use from sourceforge, and other sites, I donate to. That would be projects in the dozens, by the way. Can't donate to yours as ... it doesn't work for me.

Horrendously coded, rubbish admin interface, outdated (no releases in 2 years). Zen Cart may appear to have more features out-of-the-box than some of the newer carts, but beware -- it will not scale well, it is a nightmare to develop for (and if you do, upgrades will become an additional headache), and the hacked and unorganised nature of the code is a recipe for bugs and security holes. If you are running a business, you will not want to get locked-in to something this fragile and potentially insecure.

At first it looks great, tonnes of features + addons, more than you'll ever need. But after using it, I found the options manager weird and hard to understand. Some of the addons require patching the sql and/or the actual files of zencart. The upgrade process is very manual, requiring a diff of your site vs. the version your site is based on and then patching it to the new software version. And eventually my site became a brick(an unusable site) after upgrading from 1.2 to 1.3. All the products/category data disappeared. If you don't want to waste time upgrading or installing addons or lose all your data in the future look elsewhere.
