i've pushed an obj-c wrapper for the image scanner, which will hopefully meet everyone's needs more flexibly. please let me know if you try it out and find that things are still lacking...
@castroviejo, using the zbar namespace in the wrapper seems to work fine for using it from obj-c++ files?
