YAJNGI is a client side service that allows you to keep tabs on a set of newsgroups without having to read constantly, you will be alerted only when the configuration finds your match. YAJNGI inspects a set of Usenet newsgroups using a perfect keyword, a REGEXP or any phrases that you chose. By parsing the header, subject and body of each configured newsgroup posting, if a match is found an action is generated. It is multithread and permits a different scan interval and actions for each group. It remembers the articles it has already parsed by using a cache file. You could use YAGNGI to monitor newsgroups for your name, product, keeping uptodate on a competitor or industry, keeping tabs on your favorite arguments or any other topic of interest. YAJNGI was born for personal purposes, but I decided to make it public in the hope that it can be useful for someone.
