A modern object-oriented Fortran interface to the YAJL library, which is an event-driven parser for JSON data streams written in C. The JSON data format is light-weight, flexible, and easy for humans to read and write, making it a superior format to XML for data interchange.

YAJL, and thus YAJL-Fort, do not concern themselves with any internal data representation of the JSON text like most other JSON parsers. That is left to higher-level application code through customized parsing event callbacks.
