XP (UK version), Thunderbird and YPOP.
YPOP can read the emails (round 65) from my yahoo account but crashed afterwards. Sending emails is not possible.

On Vista, yPop runs for a while and then crashes with "free pop3/smtp access to yahoo mail has stopped working".

Any time I try to send an email I get the following error msg: Server Response: '554 Mailbox unavailable.'. (Account: '127.0.0.1', SMTP Server: '127.0.0.1', Error Number: 0x800ccc6f. Later when I tried to send again I got an error msg from YPOPs! that sd: Yahoo reported "Mising credentials" error - try lowering your cookie timeout in half ("Keep session alive" under Session) and restart ypops.

supposedly the binaries for this project support retrieving e-mail from yahoo using imap. However the source code as checked in does not have that support.
Please check in the latest sources.

so there is supposed to source code!
the ypops program doesn't work and hasn't worked for at least two releases.
the only source code is old. (9.5.4 from 8/10/2008)
what is up with that?
isn't that some kind of tos violation or open source violation or something?
if it isn't, it should be!!!!!!!!

but the news is that 9.7.1 didn't work either. in fact it was disclaimed as a working release during testing...

version YPOPs! v0.9.5.14 stopped working recently (after 3/12/2009).
so, I updated to YPOPs! Version 0.9.7.3.
it fails in exactly the same way
on the HTTP GET command for message 1 after the UIDL proved the message exists.
see attached YPOPS! log file for proof.

If the latest beta fails at login (ver. 9.7.3 3/9) then its cpu jumps over 50 percent.
