XTrackCAD is a CAD program for designing model railroad layouts. You can easily create layout of any scale or size. Libraries for many brands of track and turnouts are included. Adding new components is easy with the built-in editor.

One of the best track layout programs available, and yes it does scale larger than 8x4, I currently have a plan that is 12x17.

Great Software with only a few minor issues. I have designed several layouts and received a large layout made using the software and I am currently planning a final version to fit my available space using as far as possible, standard baseboard sizes around three sides of a room. It takes practice, but practice makes perfect, and I would rather spend a couple of weeks designing than laying it all out and having to rip it all up. Many thanks PSM
