You should be able to define the port number as a string and
then use variable substitution when using it.
The type system in XmlConfig version 2 is too complicated.
In the next version there will be only strings and objects.
The strings will be automatically converted to the required
primitive type. But it might take a while before I have time
to actually...

The improved typing of propreties in v2.0 is great but
it has introduced one, in my opinion, annoying feature:
variable referencing or substitution for primitive types.
The problem:
Let's say I denife a port number property as
type. Later in the configuration file I would like to
use that property for a bean that would take it as a
primitive int attribute for constructor or meth.
