XCN is an XChat script (written in Perl, of course) that queries DCC bots for their lists of served files and searches these lists based on user input. Effectively, making use of DCC bots rather Napsterlike.

I lost what would have been XCN 0.9.5 when finished in a filesystem crash. I lost my music collection too so now I have a bigger motive to develop the project. Expect more news updates, and another release in at most a few months. That is, if I don't get sidetracked again.
A ton of fixes and enhancements in this one, but it still isn't production ready, so don't expect it to work correctly. To the project files page! Go Go Go!!! :p
- Updated comments throughout the script - now keeps track of when people are opped/voiced (but not deopped/devoiced (yet)) - implemented /xcnclose (no longer have to reload the script to change channels) - search code is now threaded - timed too, you'll see what I mean when you run a search - cleaned up search results output - ignores actions done to user (this will change e.g. getting kicked) - removed a lot of unnecessary output to the XCN "console" - op and voice recording are now done on an "key exists or doesn't exist" basis (to save memory and simplify if statements) - merged &mkfilelist and &mkuserlist into &xcnstart - the obligatory code cleanups - replaced "pulling the plug" message with a humorous Tron reference - made delay between list requests user definable - removed placebo /xcnget command - fixed nasty bug that was moving everything sent from the servers - added some basic verbosity I neglected to put in earlier
