Hello, I have installed xbt tracker, seeded torrent on public ip4v no firewall no other blocking stuff. After all on another computer behind firewall with utorrent 2.0 try to download seeded torrent nothing, it say downloading, but can't start to download, i opened port (forwarded) and then started to download. I want ask you why is need open port to downloader, i understand seeder must be accessible from too any peer, but down downloader (leecher) why? I checked with another torrent project i can download without any problem torrent without port forwarding? Can i change any setting in XBT tracker to allow download torrent behind firewall (NAT) without port forwarding?

There are some troubles when two peers share the same public IP address. BT is p2p, so seeders aren't required to have a forwarded port. However, two peers without forwarded port can't connect to eachother.

Thanks for reply. I have same problem when seed on dedicated server (separate ipv4 address) and try to download from another computer (NAT without port forwarding) nothing happens, can you tell me why i can download torrent from others servers if p2p can communicated correctly without port forwarding, i can't understand this. Maybe You can give some support for money? Very thanks. Can i contact directly with you by skype, emeil, phone? Very thanks again

Does the seeder run on the same server as the tracker? In that case you need to set the public IP address, otherwise the tracker will just see localhost... You can contact me at email/msn: olafvdspek@gmail.com
