x3270 is a suite of 3270 terminal emulation tools. x3270 is an interactive X11 client, c3270 is curses-based interactive client, and s3270 and tcl3270 are scripting tools for writing screen-scraping applications. Includes IND$FILE support, DBCS, and more.
A great 3270 emulator for any system that supports X-Windows (Mac OS X, UNIX, Linux and even (with a little effort) Windows). Because X3270 is source-distributed and you need to compile it, Mac OS X users should get over to Macports and work their way through installing Macports, Apple Xcode, an updated X-Windows perhaps, and then the X3270 package. You will be rewarded with a full tn3270e emulator (more colors, more options, very professional). Cons: takes a fair bit of time to install - at least using the safer Macports path; and does not yet support graphics. An easy-to-install alternative (for Mac users) is Peter DiCamillo's tn3270 X (tn3270 protocol only, not tn3270e). While we wait for X3270 to add graphics, we can use IBM GDDM's little-known support for X-Windows alongside an X3270 session.
