I would really like to see OS X, Linux and BSD versions of this app.

For Linux, I plan to use Mono and have a Linux box to do development and testing. For OS X and BSD, however, I suppose the system will have to use the MS-released SSCLI and I've never built anything with that environment. If someone wants to work on versions for either of the OSes, I'd be really happy to have them aboard.

As for the rest of the app, I need C# programmers. The following skills are helpful:

1> For the server app that I'm currently working on, I could use someone with more experience writing socket servers to check it out. I'm not sure how well my app will scale.

2> The areas where I have no experience and could really use help include databases other than MS SQL Server and Access. I want to support other databases, particularly the open source ones. Someone who could test the app with those would be great.

3> I'm concerned with how well the chat aspect of the application will perform. While I want to have chat clients communicate directly whenever possible (p2p style), when 2 clients are both NATed, the only way for them to communicate is via a server of some sort. I had planned on using Web Services to handle this (the web service would also be used to find other users and to initiate communications). I'm not sure if WebServices will perform well enough for this. We may need a separate chat socket server application.

4> Anyone with strong internet programming skills would be helpful since much of the app is internet based. I want to use standards where possible. I want servers to be scalable. We need support for NNTP, SMTP and POP3. I can do all these, but I would prefer someone with experience.

5> This is where I'm really a novice: Encryption. There are a handful of areas of the application that require encrypted communication and I will really want help with that.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, e-mail me.
