I have experienced the same problem with mine. I also run Vista and have patched WoW to 2.4.2

I run Windows Vista and am patched to 2.4.2
The program opens nicely, but the moment I load any map, the program stops working and shuts itself down after Windows puts up a "Program has stopped working" error.

Im Using WinXp professional sp2, as soon as i try to load a map the game suffers an error and has to close.

Whenever I try opening the program (not the file, the PROGRAM) It says "Cannot intiatilize openGL extensions" what am I doing wrong and how can I solve it? Ive tried downloading both versions (Wip and normal) and it still wont work!

HERE IS WHAT U DO:
Put the Program WoW Map Viewer (1.0-3.0) to your WoW folder and keep it in ur wow folder and run it and locate ur wow folder once u use itwhen its in teh wow flder then it will work if u keep the patch off.

did u use winrar to extract them? i did and my model view worked fine but i have the runtime error on my map view irritating as hell.
