  • This doesn't work. Windows 10 1709, playing back .avi file with wmp 12 and the subtitle .srt file is in the same folder and identically named. The video just plays and there are no subtitles. I can drag the .srt file onto the player and still nothing. If I go into alt -> view -> plugins -> local subtitles for wmp settings, there's nothing useful to adjust. How is this supposed to work at all? There are no directions for actually using this plug. Pretty much useless garbage. 0/10.
  • On WMP 12 x64 (Win 7 - 64 bit), it worked perfectly with the file type .MP4 but NOT with the type MPEG-2 TS (. TS). The screen goes black when trying to load the video. It was tested without adding / disable any codec, only the default provided by Microsoft. Anxious wait the arrival of a new version that can take into account these types of files (that for example, VLC has trouble reproducing) because it is a plugin simple but powerful and super useful, better than any DirectShow filter.
  • This little gem should be licensed for distribution with Windows. Local Subtitles for WMP is a properly-written plug-in--not a filter--that has no performance overhead, does not modify the Direct Show/Media Foundation pipeline, and does not overlay text on top of viewable content (it positions subtitles properly--underneath the video frame). Steve Ballmer, do something that makes sense for once--cut Ilya Demidov a check.
  • Posted by OpenID User i uninstall local subtitle for WMP 12 x64, yet the default player is not reverting to WMP12 x86. How can i revert back to WMP12 x86 ???? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Install Local Subtitles for WMP 32-bit, silly!

  • Work well and useful! A must have!
  • quite good plug-in, it would be better if support *.idx and *.sub
  • This is a must have plug-in for WMP 12! But more information as supported video formats would be very helpful.
