Second release: Still pretty non-functional, but we now have:- * A fairly comprehensive rewrite of the PCI/USB handling code - we only grep what we need now, and I've flattened the hierarchy somewhat - 4 files + <a large number of> classes are now 1 file and 3 classes! * Added a load of USB adaptors corresponding to the rt2570 chipset (details from Google + rt2570/Module/rt2570sw.h) * Absolutely no PCI devices in the database. Ah well. * Code to load and display the configuration file for the selected device. No checking for existence of file, however. First release! Almost completely non-functional. Here's what we have:- * Code for detecting USB devices (parses /proc/bus/usb/devices) * Code for checking USB devices against a simple database to select WLAN devices (PCI support to be added once the PCI detection code is written...) * The very beginnings of the above database (1 entry!) * The beginnings of a GUI (GTK+) application * One sample configuration - no code to go with it :D - basically a braindump.
First day, first release :). Here's what's lazing around on my hard drive right now. Feel free to read the release notes, pick it apart and shout at me for not doing this/that. If anyone wants to write an XML parser, that's good by me ;). No, only kidding. What I would like more than anything else in the world right now is for people to email me the PCI:ID or USB:ID of their WLAN card, along with the "marketing name" of the card - e.g. 1337:1337 Atheros Super-Bells-And-Whistles EXXXXXXXTREME PCI card", along with detailed descriptions of how you got the thing running (including exact versions of everything possible!), under what Linux distribution, and with links to any How-To or files used. I'll be scraping forums as well, but this will be a big help :).
