WinVNKey is a Vietnamese Keyboard Driver for Windows. It has been developed by the non-profit TriChlor Software Group since 1992 and distributed freely to the community. Today WinVNKey is being used by millions of Vietnamese from all over the world.

This is the second beta release of WinVNKey 5.5 (build No. 456). It provides many bug fixes and feature enhancements. 1. Bug Fixes: * Fixed accidental upper case in MS Word. * Fixed RTF conversion of for TCVN-3 in Word 2007. * Fixed memory violation when updating certain HanNom databases * Fixed hot keys for language macros * Fixed combining engine for Vietnamese, macros, Han/Nom in Internet Explorer (IE) in Vista because by default IE does not support shared memory for security reasons. * Fixed a number of other errors. 2. Enhancements for Han/Nom: * Enhance plain text conversion (select source charset #100 and view the dropdown list in the destination charset combobox to see all new options): - Support conversion from Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese and vice versa - Support collecting Han/Nom statistics on Han/Nom text files. * Enhance menu "Update Han/Nom database": - Allow users to hide Han/Nom databases that they do not use. - Allow users to extract data from Unihan.txt * New Han/Nom database updates from Le Thanh Son. 3. Other enhancements: * Support typing ye^nh and tuy'p as if they were valid Vietnamese. * Support conversion of plain text from Telex or VNI conventions to any character set and vice versa. See source charsets #47 and #48 in Plain Text conversion. * Support conversion of plain text by automatically retyping source text based on typing method and Viet option page and macros. Choose source charsets #200 or more and click on the "?" button to see explanation and examples. * Make all features of plain text conversion available through menu: press and release CTRL, then press right mouse to display the conversion menu.
