This program (written as a Windows Service) disables less preferred adapters when a more preferred adapter has a connection. Typically, this program would be used to disable WiFi adapter when connected to Wired Ethernet adapter.
- Can be used to disable wireless when you connect wired network
- Tested on Windows 7 (should also work on Windows XP)
- Runs as a service in the background
- Rechecks network adapter state on resuming from sleep / hibernate
- Lightweight - just 20kB
The service fails to start on Win7 Pro SP1 fully patched with the following error. I've tried local and admin accounts with the same results. Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 4/5/2013 11:18:18 AM Event ID: 7034 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: xyz Description: The Wired WiFi Switcher service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 3 time(s).
