  • WebAuth 1.0 Released

WebAuth, a J2EE module that supports web-based authentication for any J2EE application, is releasing its first production version (v 1.0). Authentication is probably the most frequently used feature of any web-based application. WebAuth is reusable component that can be easily plugged into your J2EE applications. With WebAuth, you can virtually eliminate your development time for web-based authentication. WebAuth 1.0 has the following features: 1)Login (username and password) 2)Logout 3)Change Password 4)Add User 5)Remove User In many web applications, there is usually more than one type of users. For example, member and admin are two differently type of users. Both need authentication, but for differently purposes. WebAuth is a generic module that supports any type of users. Adding a new user type requires little configuration and code change. WebAuth 1.0 comes with a sample application that has implemented 3 types of users: member, admin and CSR. The sample application can be installed directly without customization and is ready to run. WebAuth is based on Struts 1.1, Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2. It currently supports MySQL and Oracle. The module and the sample application have been tested on Tomcat 4.1. For detail requirement, please see release notes. Your feedback is truly welcomed. Please send your feedback to ztang@users.sourceforge.net.
