Wav2MP3 Wizard is a simple solution for everyday audio encoding/decoding. It supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC files, and has straightforward interface. Easy for the new ones to learn (comes with preset profiles) and with enough features for the advanced. After 3 years of work, the Discovery Open-Source Development Group has decided to call it a day. The release of v3.2 marks the end of development for Wav2MP3 Wizard, which can only leave us happy for the work we have done as well as the response we have got so far. This version includes quite a bunch of improvements, fixes and additions from the already successful v3.1 Golden Edition which counted over 44000 downloads. Also notable is the response that users gave to the testing versions of v3.2 (3 beta releases) that count over 16000 downloads. This final release should be the most stable and fully featured to date. We hope you enjoy it. ------------------ What's New in Wav2MP3 Wizard v3.2 (Build 354): -------------------------------------- - ADDITION: Added support for FLAC encoder - ADDITION: Added MP3 re-encoding option (again) - IMPROVEMENT: Parts of the interface have been redesigned, a new control has replaced all buttons, which are now clear as to their exact use - ADDITION: Added Quick Encode, a feature which allows you to encode a whole folder automatically (subfolders are not supported yet unfortunately) - ADDITION: Added options to automatically apply AutoTag on files added to the list or encoded using the Quick Encode feature - ADDITION: Added option to encode on 320kbps quality, highest available - ADDITION: Added an option to change the output directory of all files in the list with the click of a button - IMPROVEMENT: Command-line windows of encoders do not steal focus anymore, and begin minimized - ADDITION: Added the Unsupported Encoder feature, which allows you to set-up a command line for any encoder and use Wav2MP3 Wizard to batch-encode files with it easily - ADDITION: Added "add to file list" drag-and-drop functionality to the "# files selected" box in the Main window - IMPROVEMENT: When using Save As... feature after double-clicking a file on the list, the program prompts the user to overwrite if the file already exists - REMOVAL: The program no longer has an internal preview player; the user will have to select an external program in order to use the preview feature - ADDITON: Added new "First Run Setup Wizard" which should let you set some options before your first run; it should appear on all users using v3.2 or higher for the first time - CORRECTION: Corrected functionality of myProfile, which was incorrect in v3.1 Golden Edition - CORRECTION: Rewritten update code; the program no longer uses an update window, it only does the check and prompts the user to visit the program's website - IMPROVEMENT: The program gives you the option to kill the current instance and start a new one if when starting it another instance is detected. - DEVELOPMENT: Code has been cleaned up, organized and optimized, which should result in better performance and easier debugging - OTHER: Various other undocumented minor additions/improvements/bugfixes IMPORTANT: - OCX controls have been updated for this version; unless you're downloading the Installer package, you'll have to also download the updated Extra Runtime Components RELEASE NOTES: - From this version the size of the installer is noticably larger (a bit over 2MBs); Wav2MP3 Wizard is not heavier in resources in any way; this change is due to the addition of the required Visual Basic 6 DLLs in the installer, the lack of which did not allow the program to be installed on some computers ------------------ This release can be downloaded in any of the three editions (Installer, Zipped or Source) through the official download page: http://wav2mp3lame.sourceforge.net/download.html The known issues (as well as their status) of this release can be found here: http://s8.invisionfree.com/Wav2MP3_Wizard_Forum/index.php?showtopic=2 We hope that you enjoy using this release, and we thank you for all your support during these 3 years.
