WACS-PHP - Interface Routines For PHP Release: 0.9.0
------------------------------------- April 2012
Many web developers use PHP rather than perl and it's quite possible for
the WACS infrastructure to be used from PHP just as effectively. This is
the Wacs-PHP collection which includes the Wacs API implemented in PHP5,
a customisable template Adult Web Site written using the Wacs-PHP API called
the Simple Skin, and our simple Web2.0 technology demonstrator. You do still
have to install the full perl-based Wacs suite for all the infrastructure
and collection management components it provides.
It's not our intention to shift WACS development to PHP but we do see it as
a very important delivery platform for commercial users of Wacs. In Wacs
0.8.4 we previewed our Web 2.0 technology implementation which uses the PHP
XAJAX library for AJAX/JSON functionality. This may well become part of the
standard WACS distribution environment in a future release. For this release
the focus has been on making the Simple Skin website template fully functional.
The Wacs-PHP collection also includes numerous small demonstration programs
to help people become familiar with how to use the WACS API in PHP5. Through
our commercial partner, Bevtec Communications Ltd, we offer training courses,
consultancy and turn-key installations based upon Wacs. Please visit:
