A modified version of the vshadow.exe program originally bundled with Microsoft SDK that implements the essential for taking advantage of Volume Shadow Copy Service, without unnecessary stuff. It should come in handy in Windows scripts.
- Access Volume Shadow Copy Service from a script
- Simplified version of VSHADOW.EXE
As I haven't used it yet so I have a question rather than a review. The optimization-tool of my new Samsung SSD (Samsung Magnician) offers three options to maximize either performance, capacity or reliability. All three(!) disable Win7s system backup completely - so I guess the Volume Shadow Copy too: too much temporary writings! Is there a possibility for vscsc to create the Volume-Shadow-Copy on a separate external USB-Stick? It would mean that vscsc can be started with source volume e.g. C: and the destination F: of the shadow copy?
