This is awesome. Period. Researched a method to open "foreign" file formats within VirtualDub for quite a long time, especially the H264 MPEG-4 AVC format that is created by a lot of actions cams or mobiles nowadays. None of the "codec packs" for VDub really worked. This plugin does. Installation of the "Virtualdub FFMpeg Input Plugin" is a complete nobrainer, just download the .zip and uncompress in the directory where you have installed VirtualDub. It will add files to the plugins32- aund the plugins64-directory (mostly FFInputDriver.vdplugin, FFInputDriver_64.vdplugin and a subdirectory called [ffdlls]), no overwritten files in my case. And, yeah, 65-bit-support. :-) After restarting Vdub, open the MP4 using the "FFpeg supported files" import filter and checkmark "[X] Ask for extended options". In my case, it was necessary to set "Allow missing frames" to [Any] to come up with a successful transcoding. These options will be remebered next time. This is a piece of cake and probably _THE_ essential plugin for VirtualDub (I'm using 1.10.4 by Avery Lee and Virtualdub FFMpeg Input Plugin 0814). Be aware, that you're going to need a reasonable fast machine or scrubbing through the project and VDub menu options might react a bit sluggish. Thanks for bringing that project to the public! Very appreciated.

An essential plugin. Opens just about any video file in Virtualdub. To install, unzip in your VirtualDub install folder. Be sure to overwrite any existing files there. When opening a file, select files of type "FFpeg supported files" and, at least for the first time you use it, check "Ask for extended options." The Extended Options have been updated recently (version - you can auto-detect color matrix (Rec601/Rec709) and select default video decoding format for "unusual formats" (there are many formats that virtualdub doesn't handle, now you can choose how they are decoded)
