The current chan_mp can only work correctly with 40ms (2 GSM codec) packets, e.g. in sip.conf:
codec=gsm:40
It would nice if it can handle 80ms (4 packet) aggregation to reduce the packet rate on the channel.

With some telephones 50 Hz mains hum can be heard in the analog phone, especially while dialing or during a call when the line is otherwise quiet. I can reproduce this bug on three MP01s (2 V1.2 and one V1.1) with generic black phones Rael supplied at the 2nd workshop. Two samples of this phone produce the problem. Three other models of analog phone tested have no hum.
I have heard similar...

update: - clicks start spontaneously after MP01 #36 left on for 24 hours. Not present on other MP. Can also hear them on a call e.g. dialing echo ext 4001, but not as obvious as with a continuous tone.

When some one dials extension 100 on a MP a tone is heard. As we rotate the MP the tone frequency gets higher as the batman metric to the gateway (or average of metrics to nodes we can see) increases. The tone is broken up (stuttered) depending on how many nearby nodes there are. For example beep-beep-beep-pause-beep-beep-beep-pause means 3 nodes nearby.
This feature could be implemented...

At the 2nd Village Telco workshop we noticed IAX2 calls didn't work on the MP01, e.g. the call had really messed up audio. IAX2 is a handy protocol as it can pass through firewalls easily.
I tried the following IAX2 calls (all GSM codec):
1/ IP04 to MP01 FXS port
2/ IP04 to MP01 "Echo application", this removes the FXS port.
3/ IP04 to Nanostation 2 running Asterisk with an "Echo...

Sometimes clicks in the dial tone or a distorted dial tone can be heard in the analog phone. This can be induced by running the GUI (on r203). The clicks sound a little like static. They don't seem to be present on the audio when a call is made to another SIP device, but return in the dial tone after the call is completed. Touching the PCB in the areas of the uC crystal can also induce the...

When dialing from the Mesh Potato the channel driver generates call progress tones so the person dialing can determine the progress of the call. For example first their is dial tone, then when the number is dialed you here "ring back" tone indicating that the other end of the call (the B party) is ringing.
The problem is that ring back tone is heard even if the IP dialed does not exist, i.e...
