• UMark for Linux Beta 3 Released

  The third beta version of UMark for Linux has recently been released. This release cuts ties with Gnome dependencies, as it has been redesigned with only Gtk+ widgets, also making the compiled binary over 160KB smaller. Beta 3 features support for timedemo benchmaking, UT2004 demo, as well as a slew of interface and functionality improvements. UMark Beta 3 development build 20050401 has successfully submitted the first ever Linux benchmark score to UMark Online just recently. However, don't expect to be submitting scores yourselves just yet, because the authenticity hashes (for cheat protextion) haven't yet been completed.

  UMark 2.0.0 (for Linux) Beta 3 (03/04/2005): - Added support for Timedemo benchmarking (retail UT2003 and UT2004 only). - Added support for UT2004 demo version, included UT2004 demo in data install script. - Added a configuration dialog for choosing custom .ini files to prevent main window clutter. - Fixed UMark to run benchmarks in windowed mode when the fullscreen option is not checked. - Filtering out map combobox, so only playable maps or movie type .ut2 files will be displayed. - Removed Gnome widgets and dependencies, now using pure Gtk+ 2.x (163KB smaller binary). - Removed showhud commands from exec .txt files (it was actually hiding the hud). - Removed flyby warning dialog box when 0 bots are selected (it started crashing). - Renamed many widgets in the Gtk+ interface code. - Cleaned up destroy process on the presets dialog. - Updated Perl script for creating .ini file hashes. - Updated readme, installation notes, and a new faq. - New dialog message boxes with the UMark icon. - New about dialog box. - New bugs, possibly? UMark 2.0.0 (for Linux) Beta 2 (28/03/2005): - Added support for UT2003 Demo version. - Added dynamic scanning of installed UT200x versions (using written perl scripts). - Use of $HOME/.umarkrc file to manually configure UT200x install paths if necessary. - Typecasted all offending pointers to stop compiler warnings (or errors on some machines). - Fixed benchmark type to change after modifying or clearing a preset list. - Proper detection of the UT200x build number. - Updated data installation/configuration script. • UMark for Linux Beta 2 Released

  UMark for Linux Beta 2 has been released. This release addresses compiler issues and scanning of installed UT200x versions and their proper directories, as well as other, minor improvements. Testing, bug reports, and/or confirmation it is working are very much needed, as it is currently only tested on the development machine. • UMark for Linux Beta Version Released

  A working version of UMark for Linux (native) has been released. While only in beta status, it supports most of the features of its Windows counterparts. This will provide the Linux gaming and hardware community with a means to benchmark a popular 3D engine comparable to the Windows platform. The Linux version doesn't have support for the UMark Online benchmarking database yet, but with future releases, UMark Online will bridge the gap in benhcmarking between the two operating systems.
