UnWiredAP is a basic floppy linux distro that transforms old PCs into Wireless AP routers and/or Clients. Its creation originated from the SWN initiative. The objective is to end up with a floppy that boots on 486-DX and above H/W, and set it up as AP.

Our new version "Half way There" 0.5.0 has just been released!! It was a long needed overhaul of the drivers and services it supports. We now have iptables and snmp along with a (hopefully bugfree) working version of bird daemon!! Surprize us with what you can do with it :)
changed to kernel 2.4.26 added support for atmel, ipw2100 and more..

changed to kernel 2.4.26 Bird daemon now works correctly (probably.. ) added iptables support added wiccp support added depmod util to automatically generate modules.dep file added snmp support tab completion now works correctly on dropbear and more...
UnWiredAP is now at 0.0.25!! After searching for a replacement ssh2 daemon to save up some really needed space, dropbear was found as an adequate solution and made UnWiredAP much smaller than before. Unfortunately the 1722k disk format is still used, because even though UnWiredAP fits in a 1440k disk, there is no real room for modules needed to use it effectively. This of course still creates the usual problems with Win NT/2000/XP that don't "support" the 1722k disk format. It runs on kernel 2.4.22 with hostap 0.0.4 and wlan-ng 0.2.1-pre9 and everything not included in the kernel exists as a module. UnWiredAP now has an http daemon, boa and a routing daemon, bird compiled in. Brigde utilities are now also available! PS. Thanks for all the help and tips from all of you out there. I may not reply very often, but I do appreciate them!! :)
