'RobCon', (Robotics Console), will be a GUI app for remote control of a UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) using a PC. It will be a framework app that will hold a variety of 'modules' or plug-ins. The main app will be the GUI and the plug-in architecture.

After some very weird happenings with this project, development has resumed. The RobCon (Robotics Console for remote operation of UGV's) project is actively seeking developers. I'm looking for developers for the Win NT platforms (possibly cross-platform as well) experienced in one or more of the following areas: 1) GUI development. 2) Serial port communications 3) Server applications (streaming video/audio/data to the internet) 4) Robotics 5) Familiarity with micro-controller boards, particularly Pontech 6) Plug-in architecture
The RobCon project is officially open! The basic goal of the this project is to develop a Windows 9x/NT GUI driven application that is used for controlling UGV's (Unmanned Ground Vehicles) remotely from a PC or notebook computer. RobCon will read information from various PC serial and USB peripherals, including joysticks, keyboards and mice. This information will then be sent to a serial (COM) port where it will then be transmitted wirelessly, via a wireless modem, to a micro-controller aboard the UGV that will be used to drive servos, relays, motors, etc.. The application will be user friendly and highly configurable.
