  • Submit Tux Paint to "alternativeto.net"

http://alternativeto.net/ Sadly, requires an account to even submit a suggestion. Tux Paint has been used as an alternative to KidPix and *sigh* MS Paint... possibly others.

  • Remove bottom prompt bar and others

I am looking to use the program as a digital graffiti wall in conjunction with a whiteboard, but would like to be able to disable the prompt bar with tux on at the bottom. Then allowing more screen estate to be used for painting. It would also be good to have the disabled options not just greyed out but - not there! It might be nice to have a "hide" tools option too - so once a tool has been...

  • Comment: tuxpaint won't run on MacOS X snow leopard

Note: Assuming this crash does NOT occur on a system that doesn't have any other apps that utilize fontconfig (or simply that the user running Tux Paint has not run them). In other words, if Tux Paint crashes out-of-the-box on a new OS X install (without having run Inkscape, Gimp, etc. first), please let us know! (I'll bump the priority of this bug way up, in that case!) Thanks.

  • Comment: tuxpaint won't run on MacOS X snow leopard

Discussion ongoing on tuxpaint-devel. Seems to be related to the fontconfig issue (currently listed on the Known Issues page: http://www.tuxpaint.org/docs/known_issues/ ). Removing the ".fontconfig" file helps, although running other apps that require fontconfig (e.g., Inkscape) reintroduces the crash in Tux Paint.
