No Sound in Tunez

  1. 2009-10-01 23:19:06 UTC

    Hi all

Was wondering if anyone could please help with a "no-sound" issue?

Currently running Linux Mint on a P4, 512mb ram.

I am able to play music through Jukebox, and if i go into terminal and type in "mpg123 -b 1024 /path/to/song.mp3" it starts playing fine.

unfortunately i am not able to get Tunez to play the song though.

    i've also run chmod o+rw on /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer

Is it possible to somehow see a log file that can show me the command being run and their output? To me it seems as if there is a permission issue or something that tunez isn't able to pass the commands correctly to mpg123.

    Thanks Stephen

    Hey all.

Just to provide some feedback about this. I've solved it.

In the end i think it was the user that Apache was running as that was causing the issue. was running as www-somthing. changed it to my username and all's happy.

This was using PHP as the control btw.

    Ty for ur reply!

chmod o+rw the dsp an mixer are the most common problems when it gets to the "no sound" problem ;)

    grtz.
