Lossless compressor for multichannel 8,16 and 24 bits audio data. Being 'lossless' means that no data/quality is lost in the compression - when uncompressed, the data will be identical to the original.
- Down to 30-60% lossless audio data compression
- Fast decoding and encoding
- Open source code and documentation
- Hardware support
- Real time data encryption
If you want to play your .tta lossless music files without blindly installing monstrous codec packs that will screw your system, here's what you do... 1. Go to codecs.com. 2. Find *DC-Bass Source Mod 1.5.2* there (it's a fork, better than the original; link: bit. ly/1oupEWq). 3. Simply install DCBassSourceMod_220.127.116.11.exe as it is if you want it to handle all audio files on your system. 4. If you only need TTA support from it and the rest you want to stay untouched, then unarchive the .exe file like your would a normal archive with WinRar, HaoZip, etc. 5. In the folder you've made this way find 2 files: Formats.ini & Formats_LAV.ini. 6. Open Formats.ini and edit it so that only TTA has '1' with it, while the rest have zeroes (tta=1). Remember to save it after editing! 7. Open Formats_LAV.ini and repeat the operation (though I'm not sure about this one, but it worked). Save the file. 8. Find Register.bat and run it. Tip 1: To uninstall run Unregister.bat. Tip 2: To change settings unregister the bass filter, then change your settings and register it again. This will solve your problem with TTA. P.S. *RadLight TTA DirectShow filter 1.0* from that same site codecs.com also worked for me, but much worse. Rewinding was half-broken in my Winamp with this codec, while the base filter works flawlessly.
I believe it may be the best codec... great ratios.
