  • Comment: insmod crash on Cyber9525/DVD

Logged In: YES user_id=1044432 I can also confirm this bug, on a Cyber9525(rev49) (Toshiba Satellite 4060XCDT), with kernel 2.6.8. One note: with tridentfb compiled into the kernel it crashes at boot time (with some stray color bars on the screen) and hangs the laptop, but when compiled as a module, it only freezes the last contents of the screen (=80x25 text) on modprobeing, but the...

  • Trident CiberBladeXP, Little Centered Screen

Im using the laptop Toshiba Tecra 8200 with a Trident CiberBladeXP Graphic Card. After installing Debian 3.01 Woddy or Sid, the screen remains little, in the center of the monitor rounded by a black area. I have installed the FB support for Trident Cards, and VGA FB is not selected. At Kernel Bootup, it tells me: Console: colour VGA+ 80x25 tridentfb: Trident framebuffer 0.7.5 initializing...

  • Changing the resolutions ....

I actually have a trident card ( i think a TGUI9XXX series), and i use to load the module for the frame buffer with modprobe tridentfb The problem is that the screen resolutions are always 640x480. I try to pass some parameters like modprobe tridentfb mode=800x600 memsize=2048, but the modules load well, and the resolutions still remain in 640x480. Is it possible change the...

  • Comment: problems initializing fb in lilo

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200, with a 1400x1050 displays that gets reported as a 1280x1024, but i want to be able to run in 1400x1050 it has a "01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Trident Microsystems CyberBlade/XP (rev 63)" GFX card. so I think I need to specify the options: nativex=1400 fp mode=1400x1050 bpp=16 how would the append line look like?, i can't get it...

  • another driver for EPIA

Ant Skelton has a driver for the trident cyberblade found on VIA EPIA mobos. http://sf.net/projects/epiafb If you have such a board chances are it works better than tridentfb since it actually has CRT testing. In the future these projects might merge efforts.

1)take out vesafb from kernel 2)no need for vga= option 3)append="video=trident:1024x768-75" notice trident not tridentfb and video= ciao jani.

  • insmod crash on Cyber9525/DVD

hi. running a FSC lifebook 2131 with 800x600 lcd, and above chip. uhm -- not much to tell: insmod tridentfb simply turn the screen into blinking garbage and causes a complete hang. no error output caught. tried 0.76-fs2 and the kernel 2.4.19 builtin. anything i can do to help debug this? regards, dns.
