Mod_perl is faster, for tracking active torrents running the program as a daemon might be the best?
Then the frontend would just read the data out of the SQL database...
I made a torrent-spider which is able to locate about 3-4000 unique torrents per session per 24 hours on my 0.5mbps line, running 2 sessions about doubled the result.
I plan to make a torrent searchengine using this spider...

I am somewhat hesitant to actually produce something that works, because I keep thinking of new and interesting things to stick in the database.
I've got some spare time tomorrow (gotta build a couple of machines up today) - I'll see if I can throw something together that actually works.
I'm yet to decide *how* to run the actual tracker perl script. I'd like to just have it run on every pa.

Rob,
Could you give some more documentation, perhaps the .sql file so we could try the import.pl? Maybe I could help to make some decent HTMl front?.
