Tloona is an advanced editor for Tcl/Tk. Main features are project management, extensive code browsing, syntax highlighting / command expansion, and a very useful command REPL (Read/Eval/Print Loop). Projects are in fact directories, and can be deployed as starkits or starpacks. Procedures, classes, namespace definitions etc. can be send to the REPL or to another interpreter for agile and dynamic development.
The project was inspired by Eclipse and Lisp/SLIME, so the graphical environment is a little bit of Eclipse and the SLIME environment for Emacs. This makes Tloona a good fit for the development of every scale Tcl/Tk applications, be it for adminsistration tasks, desktop, services or web applications. The Tclhttpd web server can be started inside the REPL and .tml templates are supported.
Tloona works i.e. with ActiveTcl >= 8.5 (http://www.activestate.com/activetcl). After installation of the Dependencies (e.g. via teacup), ActiveTcl can run the Tloona starkit out of the box.
