Neither Tidy, nor the W3C online-validator are always correct in evaluating the standard-conformity of (x)html- and xml-code. However, Tidy does an awesome job and, as far as I know, it is the only offline-tool which combines in this way the automated validation and correction of existing markup-code. In my opinion you quite simply need Tidy, when you are willing to publish something clean and correct, more than to incorporate each and every spectacular gimmick in your HTML. Do the final validation with the online-validator at validome.org and you will be fine.

Awesome project :) Very useful. EDIT: I thought there was a bug in Tidy HTML but turns out it was me. Made more sense :P

Really, Sourceforge can't just fix this download so it works? Really? Because it would be great if it would just download.

Buggy piece of shit, avoid it if at all possible.

Excellent library (plus tool) to clean up hand-coded and machine-generated HTML/XHTML. Support for MathML, canvas and SVG (HTML5) tags is not yet there today (20/nov/2009) but a couple of patches might take care of that as well ;-)
