  <ul> <li>New option <code>encoding</code> which controls the output encoding (in Tcl 8.1 and above), and also generates an XML processing instruction or HTML <code>Content-type</code> meta-tag, or both. </li> <li>Attributes of the form <code>name=x</code> are deprecated in XHTML 1.0. An attribute <code>id=x</code> will be appended automatically. In XML mode, the <code>id</code> attribute replaces the <code>name</code> attribute altogether. </li> </ul>
