• Path Analysis

Hello! I have a couple (hopefully) simple questions about path analysis functions: 1) The "apply view angle" function is a bit mysterious : Does this apply a view angle to every point? (It doesn't seem to because when I click on a point it still gives me a 360 degree isovist.) Where does this angle begin (if it doesn't know path direction)? I'm hoping to do a more perceptual based...

  • Followup: RE: Integration: Something's wrong

    Isn't integration = 1/RRA?.

  • Followup: RE: Integration: Something's wrong

    Our programmer sent me the following explanation: By definition, integration is the sum of 1/RA of adjacent axial lines. RA values of the axial lines are: Line index - value 0 - 2/3 1 - 2/3 2 - 1/3 3 - 1/3 4 - 2/3 5 - 2/3 6 - 4/15 The integration of line#2 is 1/(2/3) + 1/(2/3) + 1/(4/15) = 6.75 The integration of line#6 is 1/(1/3) + 1/(1/3) = 6 The results may look...

  • Integration: Something's wrong

Hi. I was using Axial analysis feature, and I found major error on integration property. Just look at this: I think 6 shound have higher integration, but 2 and 3 are higher on integration while 6's RRA is lower than any other. confused... So tell me...

  • Much faster, experimental version of Syntax2D released

Yongha Hwang and Sungsoon Cho from the University of Michigan have submitted a new version of the Syntax2D source code with optimizations that result in a significant speed increase in calculation (at least 5x faster). If you are interested in trying out this new code, you can find it in the releases section. Note: It is based on the older 1.3.0.6 version. We hope to add it to the official...
