the uploaded patch cannot be in .bz2 format, although the page states:
The patch file can be in plaintext, gzip or bzip2 format. [autodetected]
uploading the patch as .bz2 results in massive failures, see the following example:

note: this patch should not do anything which
affects the build, i.e. it only creates a file
called 'dummy' containing a single line ...
nevertheless, most regression tests seem to
fail with quite a number of errors ... note that
the host compiling them says that there is no
gcc used for compiling :)

this results in very different number of warning and
sometimes errors, so that the results cannot be compared with a script ...
