• StockMonster 2 Pre Beta 1

  This is my new stockmonster program. It is essentially a rewrite of my original, but a lot better. It will continue to grow as i haven't yet implemented all the features i had in the original. I have come back to sourceforge after a while, just to test it out. I really would like help on this project, but if i don't get any then i will revert back to going solo. Sourceforge tends to eat up good coding time.

• Help wanted

  Hi, This is to anyone who wishes to make money trading on the stockmarket. Now that i have your attention, this program has huge potential and i have it all mapped out in my head, having worked on it on and off for quite a few years now. There is no other program that is aiming to store and share financial data like this one, so it is unique. I also want to use it for graphing and for analysis. The goal is to make money on the financial markets. I already make money on the financial markets, however i spend a LOT of time studying markets and trying to find needles in haystacks. I am pushing forward with this again in the hope that it will reduce the time i spend gathering data and analysing markets. The type of person/s that i'm after. - Should be proficient at programming. - Should be keen about learning about the sharemarket. - Have some spare time per week. - Interested in making money on the stockmarket. I am going to dedicate about 15 hours per week on it from now on. I have been dedicating about 5 hours a week lately, but this isn't enough and i forget more about the program than what i achieve now. There are a bunch of tasks that i want to delegate. 1 : database abstract classes. If you're competant with a Database ie, oracle, MSSQL, SQLite or any other, even a custom database would be good, then you have a chance to create your own abstract class. Just follow the already created function prototypes. I have built the MYSQL class (80%) and it can still use some work, but it's done in such a way that it should be easy to follow and replicate. I also need someone to create a couple of test functions. I have a test function already but it's no where near thourough enough for my liking. I want it to test every function, thereby eliminating the chance of any errors created by any new modules. Also it'll ensure that all the new modules that people create will operate exactly the same way. 2 : Graph Module. I have built graphing modules in the past, but i want to start from scratch. If you're interested then we can share idea's. Interfacing with the database is now a doddle ( EASY ). I have also created a dialog and i have a function "line". 3 : Portfolio Module. This is going to be tough at the moment because i haven't got the GUI in any shape that i'm happy with. However if you think you want to tackle this we can start function prototyping as i haven't done anything yet. Whoever tackles this is going to have to 4 : Internet Connection. I already download data in a custom program. I'll be modifying the custom program to start using the database class soon. I'll also modify a lot of my other Trading tools to start using the database class. Ideally though i would like the program to AutoUpdate off the internet. This isn't essential because i don't mind having a seperate program updating, in fact it could be a bonus. I also want to create a master database server. This could be where all data is stored and subsequently shared out to Users. It will probably have to be integrated tightly with database, in fact i'm leaning towards creating another database inherited class to deal with this. /********************************************************* FUTURE *********************************************************/ 5 : AI Class. Having all this data is great, but i want better tools for analysis. AI is the obvious next step. 6 : Auto Trading The ultimate will be to have the system Auto Trading. I can't see why we can't get there. Even if we just generate signals that we have to act on. Anyway this is enough for now. If i can get 2 or 3 people who are keen to get this project moving with me then we can achieve great things. • Database structure finalised

  I have finally completed the database structure for the new program. A lot of issues from the first program have been resolved and hopefully we haven't introduced any new complications. Next stage is to develop a set of database utilities to create the structure and ini files, kind of like a setup program.

• Project back up and running

  Well i dumped this project for a few months now. The resource sector took off so i spent my spare time concentrating on that instead. It earns me money so it has priority. Anyway i've learned a lot and i think it's time to rehash a lot of stuff. This project will probably end up going through a small rewrite over the next month or two
