Google's web browser Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. However, it is often critiqued by data protection specialists because of its close ties to Google. Creating a unique user ID and the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions have both been pointed out as potential privacy converns. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium source and offers the same features as Chrome--but without the privacy concern.
- All the features of Chrome, but without sending any unwanted data.
- Does not track usage.
- Does not send address bar data to Google as you type.
- Does not send information about when and where it was downloaded (as Chrome does).
I was getting tired of Firefox crashing and being slow but didn't want to use Chrome because of Google spying so I did some research and found this browser. So far it's just like having Chrome but without the eavesdropping. I don't know why a project like this just doesn't take off as big as Firefox did because this is more stable and faster than Firefox.
