An extension of the W3C Slidy system for creating web-based, standards-compliant slide shows. Speechy adds the ability to embed audio (speech or music) or video along with the slides, and to advance the slides in sync with the audio or video.

Speechy is no longer being actively developed or used by its author. A few speeches will be left on-line at http://www.alexsbrown.com/speechy, but they have all been converted to video formats instead. If anyone is looking for this type of functionality, I recommend using DVD Slideshow open-source tools to create video files of a slide show synchronized with the audio. Then translate these videos into Theora video or Flash, using ffmpeg, ffmpeg2theora, and other tools. File sizes are much greater this way, but compatibility with browsers is much, much better than with Speechy.
