Yes this key-to-activate thingy was already suggested once and would definitely be a nice addition. Didn't have time to implement it yet, tough.

The SVN version does indeed measure confidence scores but a new release is not planned anytime soon (at least not in the next one-two month. Still a lot left to do. Sorry...

You can compile a svn snapshot fairly easy, tough (and current trunk/ should be quite stable). Have a look at our wiki (http://simon-listens.org/wiki) if you are interested.
