how to make PCMCIA *off*?

    I got a symbol LA3021-500us FHSS card and tried to use it under redhat 7.3 (linux 2.4.18-3).

    As README.spectrum24_cs says: I have to make the kernel support for PCMCIA *off*. Could someone tell me how to use "make menuconfig" to do that or other ways to do that? I tried to edit .config and there was some error.
