Did the job well. Added a couple of pointers: If running in Win7, must run as Admin. No real help file, would be nice to know what was going to happen for each option. Would be kind of nice if it had some general AI to guess where an app would go (i.e. anything with the text "SQL" would go into Programming. Also would be nice if you could rename categories instead of creating new and reassigning everything.
Brilliant being doing this manually for too many years!
pretty cool. doesn't contain enough templates, but it's very useful for us GNU/Linux users who are used to the .desktop organisation.
* Global exceptions are now caught in and logged. * Start menu location is now retrieved from SHGetSpecialFolderPath() API call. * This fixes problems with non-English version of windows. * Localization (NB: All the included traslations suck!) * Icons are now retrieved asynchronously. * A new move routine was added ('Apply Changes' operation are much much less likely to fail now) * More stuff ;)

SMOz (Start Menu Organizer) is a tool that can organize the Windows start menu. SMOz has an easy to use interface with undo/redo support, batch organization, and ability to associate start menu items with installed programs to ease management of start menu. The most powerful feature of SMOz is the templates. Templates allow users to use wildcard or regular expression patterns to automatically move start menu items to categories. Version 0.6.5 is available now. Also, some new screenshots have been added.
