This has proven to be a very useful project. I first tried fuse-smb under Ubuntu, and I encountered the "blank mount point" bug. Thankfully, smbnetfs came to the rescue, and works like a charm. I even added a static link so I don't have to wait for scans of the network; that was just nice to have. I'm very happy with smbnetfs.

Very helpful project, specially with pam_mount. It would be great if smbnetfs had support DFS

After finding that "fusesmb" does not work on my Ubuntu laptop, it was great to find that "smbnetfs" is now available to solve the same problem and works perfectly!

Thank you very much - you saved my day! I just succeeded in mounting smb shares inside an OpenVZ VE where cifs/smb mounts don't work but were badly needed. It would work with bind mounts from the host but SMBNetFS did the trick inside the VE without hassle and it works fast and stable!
