This program, called "rebuild_db", allows the iPod shuffle to be used without iTunes. It rebuilds the iPod shuffle's databases based on the actual content of the iPod's file system, without restrictions regarding the directory structure.

After searching the web for alternatives to iTunes I found that most are just as bloated and unreliable as the program they're supposed to replace. I almost gave up hope, but then I found this. It works, it's small, it's superb. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

It's work on dos and rebuild database on my "Apple i pod shuffle 2nd generation" very fast and perfectly.

Awesome work man. I first downloaded this and it worked for me in my 512mb first generation shuffle. Now I just got it working perfectly for my clip on ipod shuffle 1gb perfectly. Really appreciate your efforts. Thank you.
